  1. Cookies

Our Website uses so-called cookies at several points. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. They are used to make our offering more user-friendly, more effective and more secure. Cookies also allow our systems to recognise your browser and offer you services. Cookies do not contain any Personal Data. Under certain circumstances, however, it is possible that a cookie may be assigned to a specific user data set.

Our websites exclusively use cookies on an automated basis. We do not trace cookies back to user profiles either to take advantage of the aforementioned benefits for users or to gain personal information.

You have the option to reject cookies or to configure your browser settings in such a way that you are informed each time our website attempts to place a cookie. This may mean, however, that certain services offered by our websites are no longer available or can only be used on a restricted basis.

Further information on cookies (including instructions on how they can be blocked) can be found, for example, at www.allaboutcookies.org.

  1. Use of Google Analytics

This Website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google“). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will generally be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google in advance within Member States of the European Union or in other Contracting States to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services to website operators relating to website activity and internet usage.

The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other data from Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and Google from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

  1. Use of Google Maps

We use Google Maps to display interactive maps and to create directions. Google Maps is a map service of Google.

By using Google Maps, information about the use of this website, including your IP address and the (start) address entered as part of the route planner function, may be transmitted to Google in the USA.

When you call up a website of our Internet presence that contains Google Maps, your browser establishes a direct connection with Google’s servers. The map content is transmitted by Google directly to your browser and integrated into the website by it. We therefore have no influence on the extent of the data collected in this way by Google. According to our state of knowledge, this is at least the following data:

  • Date and time of the visit to the website concerned,
  • Internet address or URL of the website accessed,
  • IP address entered during route planning,
  • (Start) address entered during route planning.

We have no influence on the further processing and use of the data by Google and can therefore assume no responsibility for this.

If you do not want Google to collect, process or use data about you via our website, you can deactivate JavaScript in your browser settings. In this case, however, you cannot use the map display.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Google as well as your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy can be found in Google’s data protection information: http://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.

By using our website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google Maps in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

  1. Use of Gravatar

We use the service Gravatar of Automattic Inc., 60 29th Street #343, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA (“Gravatar“), on our website, especially if you want to contact one of our member law firms.

Gravatar is a service where users can register and store profile pictures and their e-mail addresses. If users leave contributions or comments with the respective e-mail address on other online presences (especially in blogs), their profile pictures can be displayed next to the contributions or comments. For this purpose, the e-mail address provided by the users is encrypted and transmitted to Gravatar for the purpose of checking whether a profile is stored for it. This is the only purpose of the transmission of the e-mail address and it is not used for other purposes, but deleted afterwards.

By displaying the images, Gravatar obtains the IP address of the user, as this is necessary for communication between a browser and an online service. Further information on the collection and use of data by Gravatar can be found in Automattic’s privacy policy: http://automattic.com/privacy/.

If users do not want a user image linked to their Gravatar e-mail address to appear in the comments, they should use an e-mail address that is not stored with Gravatar to comment. We would also like to point out that it is also possible to use an anonymous e-mail address or no e-mail address at all if users do not wish their own e-mail address to be sent to Gravatar. Users can completely prevent the transmission of data by not using our comment system.

  1. Use of Youtube-Plugins

Our Website uses plugins from the YouTube site operated by Google. The site is operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA (“YouTube“). When you visit one of our pages equipped with a YouTube plug-in, a connection is established to YouTube’s servers. This will tell the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged in to your YouTube account, you can enable YouTube to assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

You can find more information about the handling of user data in YouTube’s privacy policy: http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

  1. Use of Content Delivery Networks (CDN)

Our Website uses MaxCDN (BootstrapCDN), a CDN from NetDNA, LLC (3575 Cahuenga Blvd. West, Suite 330, Los Angeles, CA 90068, USA; “MaxCDN”). CDN shortens the loading time of common Java-Script libraries and fonts because the files are transferred from fast, local or underutilized servers. Among other things, your IP address is transferred to MaxCDN.

Both providers operate servers in the EU, but it cannot be ruled out that your browser may also access servers outside the EU. The contents of our service and communication are not handled via CDN.

In order to prevent the execution of Java Script as a whole, you can install a Java Script Blocker in your browser. You can find more information about the data protection of the providers at http://www.bootstrapcdn.com/privacy-policy/.

  1. Transmission of Personal Data

The transmission of Personal Data via the contact form from your computer to the server is encrypted. The data entered in the contact form is not stored on your computer (no cookie or similar). Despite encryption, absolute security is not possible. The server forwards your data entered in the contact form by e-mail for processing. These e-mails are not encrypted. The use of e-mails is not technically secure; it may happen that e-mails are not delivered. When e-mails are transmitted, they may leave national borders, even if the sender and recipient are domestic. The confidentiality of e-mails cannot be guaranteed if encryption is missing or insufficient. Unencrypted e-mails are therefore not suitable for sending confidential information.

By using the contact form or sending an e-mail, you consent to communication via e-mail in full knowledge of the risks described above.

Our Website is hosted by Exabytes Network Sdn. Bhd., 1-18-8, Suntech @ Penang Cybercity, Lintang Mayang Pasir 3, 11950 Bayan Baru, Penang, Malaysia. The servers offer the best-possible protection against unauthorised third-party access. Backups are generated regularly in order to prevent data losses to the greatest possible extent.

Apart from information generally need to connect you to our Website via the Internet, no further Personal Data is automatically collected.

  1. Access, retification

You have the right at all times to access your data stored with us free of charge and to have your data rectified. Please contact us to this end. Our contact data can be found above under “Contact”.

  1. Withdrawal and erasure

You can withdraw your consent to this privacy policy at any time and request the erasure of your Personal Data. Please contact us to this end. Our contact data can be found above under “Contact”.

Should you submit an erasure request, we will lock and block your data. Please note, however, that, under certain circumstances, we are obliged under commercial or tax law or for other legal reasons to retain records for a minimum period of 10 financial years. We are therefore unable to either erase or edit the Personal Data contained in these records. To this extent, your erasure request applies solely to future processing.

If a contractual relationship is still pending at the time of receipt of your revocation and request for deletion, your Personal Data will be processed until the contract is fully processed. Your revocation under data protection law expressly has no influence on the processing of existing contractual relationships and is not regarded as an extraordinary reason for termination.

  1. Adaptions of this privacy policy

Amendments to this privacy policy will apply from the time of their publication on our website. The processing of Personal Data that was collected under the provisions of an older privacy policy will be performed in accordance with this privacy policy.

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy at any time and to inform users about the changes in an appropriate form.
