Session at the LAWASIA conference 2016 in Colombo, Sri Lanka

The members of the League of Lawyers attended the 29th LAWASIA Conference held on the 12th of August 2016 to the 15th of August 2016. The theme for the conference was “50 years of supporting the Rule of Law”.

A few members of the League were invited to present at the conference.

Henning von Zanthier, the President of League of Lawyers from VON ZANTHIER & SCHULZ, Germany spoke on “Asian-European Business Relations as Hot Spot of World Economics”. Von Zanthier talked about the importance of investing in Asia, as well as the similarities and differences between Asia and Europe.

Niten Chauhan from JPC Law, London presented on “Bilateral Trade Agreements, Brexit & the future of economic integration between the United Kingdom and Asia”. He talked about UK recent deals with Asian countries and the impact of Brexit on Asia.

Raymond Mah from MahWengKwai & Associates, Malaysia spoke on “One Belt, One Road: Impact and Opportunities for Asia & Europe”. The aim was to introduce how China’s trade initiatives can benefit countries and even law firms.
