11th Annual General Meeting 2024, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The 11th Annual General Meeting and Conference of the League of Lawyers was hosted by our Malaysian member, MahWengKwai & Associates, from 10 to 16 October 2024. The meeting kicked off with a visit to the Palace of Justice, Putrajaya, where the Court of Appeal and Federal Court are housed. The tour included visits to the Judiciary’s museum, the ante-room of the Court of Appeal and a detailed presentation on the court’s ongoing digital transformation programme.
The 11th Annual General Meeting on 11 October 2024 meeting was attended by representatives from 12 jurisdictions, namely:

The AGM, chaired by our Co-Presidents Stephan Hofer and Nippita Pukdeetanakul, focused on the League of Lawyers’ ongoing growth and future strategic developments. The members expressed heartfelt thanks and recognised the invaluable contributions of two retiring board members, Stephan Hofer and Henning von Zanthier, for their dedicated years of service.
Later that evening, attendees enjoyed a sumptuous dinner at Sabayon, located at EQ Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, headed by Chef Steve Arrifin. The restaurant’s panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur’s Twin Towers was the perfect backdrop to a delightful three-course meal.
The following day, members embarked on a cultural exploration of Melaka, a historical town which is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The visit to the Melaka Heritage Museum, offered insights into the city’s historical significance as a trading hub, followed by an immersive performance at Encore Melaka, which showcased the vibrant tapestry of Melaka’s heritage through modern storytelling and visual effects.
The League of Lawyers delegation also participated in the LAWASIA Conference 2024 from 13 – 15 October at the Hilton Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Members of the League including, Mr Niten Chauhan, Mr David Kubon, Mr Raymond Mah, Ms Ching-yu Tsai and Mr Imam Hossain spoke on various topics relating to technology, international trade and commerce, and the environment.
On the final day of their Malaysian experience, members enjoyed a city tour highlighting Kuala Lumpur’s rich heritage. The tour featured stops at Pasar Seni (Central Market), where attendees experienced local arts and crafts, and concluded with a visit to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers.
