League of Lawyers Meeting 2024, Czech Republic, Prague
Agile Management and AI in Legal Practice: KLB Legal Held a Successful International Conference
From 29 May to 1 June 2024, a legal conference with a strong international presence was held in Prague. This was the spring meeting for members of the prestigious League of Lawyers organisation, with KLB Legal being the only member law firm from the Czech Republic.
League of Lawyers unifies attorney’s offices from three continents: Asia, Australia, and Europe. Being part of this elite club allows us to provide reliable services with international reach and at a level of quality that well exceeds our domestic standards. We’re also able to provide our clients with quality and rapid legal support during global trade acquisitions, in part thanks to our important contacts and our flawless knowledge of local jurisdiction, built on the constant exchange of legal knowledge with our partners. The clients of League of Lawyers member firms rely on current information regarding the regulatory framework as well as the risks and cultural specifics of a particular country. Our know-how is especially vast in the Asian markets. League of Lawyer members recommend and help one another with the local legislature (establishing subsidiaries, foreign debt collection, etc.)
25 first-rate lawyers from 15 countries
Membership in this elite club also comes with an amazing, albeit grand responsibility: arrange a meeting every six months for its members in one of the countries where League of Lawyers operates. And this very task fell on our company for the final week in May.
25 partners of the cooperating firms from 15 different countries attended the four-day meeting in Prague. And we prepared for them a mix of expert topics, networking, and experiences with Czech culture. We also welcomed colleagues from Saudi Arabia and Denmark for the first time.
Conference based on the 3As: Agility, Adaptability, and AI
Even legal practices use methods of digital transformation and modern technology today. They implement these tools to increase their efficiency and have an easier time meeting their clients’ needs. That’s why we invited our colleagues from AgiLawyer to teach us the secrets of agile management and using artificial intelligence (AI) in legal practice. Agile methods are characterised by the ability to react quickly, adapt, and display resourcefulness when leading projects, all of which apply perfectly to our field. For instance, AI can prepare legal research and create relevant content, and do so with extraordinary precision and effectiveness. During the seminar, we learned we’re dealing with similar issues in this area, and this acted as a source of fruitful discussions, ‘aha’ moments, and sharing experiences.
Shared experiences contribute to even deeper business relationships
Trust, personal contacts, and professional friendships are instrumental to cooperation across continents, which we established and strengthened during this conference. And that’s why we provided space for networking and social events in Prague and Kutná Hora, alongside the more focused working hours.
For League of Lawyers, we also discussed the possibilities of the secondment program, i.e., the temporary transfer from one law firm to another. League of Lawyers members share similar values and standards, which enables the exchange of knowledge and proven approaches between partners, thus supporting career development, strengthening relationships between firms, and opening business opportunities. In our globalised world, knowledge of the local jurisdiction on paper isn’t enough, which is why we help one another to understand different environments and cultures via work exchanges.
We’re grateful we could contribute something both professional and social to our business relationships in League of Lawyers. We’d like to thank our partners for these four intensive days, and we’re delighted to see the conference viewed as a real success.
The conference was attended by our colleagues from Harold Benjamin, MahWengKwai & Associates, GHR Rechtsanwälte AG, CRA TIMOR, AMS Advocaten N.V., Bc Lim & Lau LLC, JNP Legal Co., Ltd., Astra Law Offices, Cairn Legal, NJORD Law Firm, SZA Law Firm, Barcelaw Abogados SLP, Von Zanthier & Dachowski, DREW & NAPIER LLC, Nouf Al Qthani Law Firm, and Hundt Legal Consultancy.
It was nothing short of an amazing time, and we’re already looking forward to the autumn meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!
